Ring in the New Year

I can remember a time when 2013 seemed decades away. Now it is upon us, and I couldn't be more excited.  So many wonderful things going on!  As the New Year comes, it is always fun to look back on old memories.  One of my favorite New Year memories is a lovely, romantic one.

December 31st, years ago beneath the soft light of falling snow, close to the hour of midnight, the love of my life knelt before me, asking if I would spend the rest of my life with him.  He promised so many things that evening  ...to share in the laughter of our children, dance with me in our kitchen and make me smile everyday.

He does all of that and more.

    I remember one year we stayed home on new years eve and the little ones were sick. We were watching movies as we took turns seeing to their needs. Right before the new year..he looked at me and said he would rather be there with me cooling down our feverish kids than anywhere else.

    No Resolutions or traditions for me this year, Hubby and I stayed at home this year, we had a nice evening with the fire place going, I had a glass of wine and about 8:30 hubby wanted to watch Batman Rising. It ended just in time before the New Year for our New Year Kiss, which by the way was interupted by our 3 big dogs who jumped up on the couch with us - LOL They were scared from the loud noises coming from the fireworks going off outside - LOL It was funny but was all good, we just laughed and realized how much love we have in our lives.

    1 memory of new years past always comes to mind for me is staying up all night with my family watching Chiller theater (scary movies) all night long. 1 main goal for me this coming year is to finally finish my first novel :D Happy New Year

    A fun new year memory I have is of spending the 2000 celebration with a bunch of computer programmers and their friends and family. We each had special crystal glasses that had 2000 carved out as the stem. Our glasses toasted 30 seconds before midnight. Then the programmers all took to the keyboards and hoovered… waiting to see if Y2K was averted. Yay! It was. LOL.
